Project List + Detailed Blogpost:
Project Proposal
To start off, the app redesign assignment, I went to find apps that had
complaints about their interface design and user experience from
existing users. This was done by combing through the Google Play reviews
of apps that I had in mind.
I finally managed to narrow down my options to
SMART SELANGOR PARKING, GSC Cinema App and
DOMINO'S app.
Following that I compiled some of the weaknesses of these 3 apps based
on user reviews from the Google Play store as well as my personal
opinion. Along with that, I suggested possible solutions that can be
done during the redesign to overcome these weaknesses.
Attached below is the compilation of the weaknesses and solutions I
found for the 3 apps.
Project 1
by Janice Eng
After getting approval and advice from the lecturer, I choose to focus
on
SMART SELANGOR PARKING (SSP) redesign. Following that, I carried out a detailed analysis of
the weaknesses and strengths of SSP. At this point in time, no actual
data was collected from users, so the analysis was mostly based on
Google Play Users' reviews, Competetive Analysis and personal
opinions.
Attached below is the Proposal Slide to redesign SSP.

UI/UX Document
After getting my proposal approved by the lecturer, I moved on to the
actual data collection to back up my reasons for redesign.
For this section of the project, we were required to carry out user
surveys, user interviews and card sorting. Additionally, I decided to do
some usability testing to compare how easy it is to use SSP before the
redesign and after.
User interview: 5 people
User survey: 53 response
Usability testing: 5 people (same people who did
interview)
Card Sorting: 8 responses
After all the data was collected, the below elements were
generated:
- User Personas
- User Journey Map
- Information Architecture Map
- User Flow Chart
Below are the slides for the UI/UX document.
Low Fidelity Prototype
After completing the UIUX document, I got started with the Lo-Fi
Prototype. For this project, I carried out 3 user testing for my Lo-Fi.
You can view the detailed process in my Lo-Fi prototype blog.

High Fidelity Prototype
Adding onto my work in the Lo-Fi prototype, I refined and added colour to
my designs. This project generally included a lot of fine-tuning in the
design aspect. Reading up on articles helped me decide what I wanted to
change.

I would have probably enjoyed this task more if I had understood what I was
doing. Overall, this module has taught me valuable knowledge of the
processes that go into redesigning an app. I am grateful for it but God I
wish the timeline for the Projects weren't as rushed as they were.
