Final Project
After that, I placed the yellow panel on top of the blue one. I then made a
circle, plotted out where the flashlight would fall on the image, and then
applied a clipping mask onto the circle and the yellow panel.

Final Project
1. Planning & Comic Layout
I had planned to use Act 3 from the story I chose, 'The Black Cat', for my
comic. I liked how gory it was at the end, so I chose it. I sketched out
some ideas before proceeding.

2. Colouring the comic
After sketching, I open up Ai to colour the comic. I mainly used the pen tool, pencil tool and brush tool to do lineart and colouring. After I outlined the sketch, I placed a clipping ask over them to ensure that the colours do not leave the panel's border. We were also asked to follow the style from our triptych. The colours I used this time is less saturated but I hope it's passable.

3. Animating the Comic
I planned out a simple storyboard 1st so that I know what I was doing.
Figure 1.4 Short Storyboard
My plan was to have a flashlight flash past the dead body and the cat. So
I created 2 different colours for my last panel(which I am
animating).
Of course, I had some issues where the frames weren't exactly the same, and
had to go back into Ai to change it. After I had the frames exactly the
same, I played around with the timing of the animation to see what I liked
the most.

Reflection
I had a decent experience with this project. I had completed all my other
modules' final projects so I had time to focus on this. We already
were taught all the basics(clipping masks, recolour, pencil tool,
gradient, etc.) of Ai. So it was quite a smooth experience. One thing I had
a problem with is that the instructions given in the brief wasn't that
clear. I had to double-check with my friends on what to do. There was one
point where I was told we had to do the comic about act 1 and I freaked out
because I had already done the work for act 3. But after double checking
with my friends, they told me we could do any act. Also, I was unsure if we needed to put the triptych art into the comic itself, but I was tired and wanted to cry at this point, so I gave up and submitted what I
had.
My observation for this project is that I have gotten used to using Ai.
Gone are the day I constantly complain about it. Now I just occasionally
complain about it:D. I still hate Ai though. My laptop fighting for it's
life every time I open it.
My findings for this project. Hmm a conclusion. Honestly, this project is
the least stressful one as I could solely focus on it as I finished all my
modules. And for the comic, since I had already did a triptych related to
'The Black Cat' I knew what I wanted to do with it quite well.
