This week Mr Fauzi introduced us the adjustment layer such as brightness/contrast, levels, curves, exposure and the selective layer. He also introduced us to the filters in photoshop like hue/exposure and colour balancing our collage.

Instructions

  1. Attach your best composition from WEEK 3 digital collage exercise below.
  2. Using the same Photoshop file, improvise your WEEK 3 digital collage into WEEK 4 by using Adjustment Layers & Filters on Photoshop.
  3. Explain what you’ve learned in the description section.

Digital Collage

Week 3 : Pen Tool Exercise (Best Composition)

Figure 1.1 Big Fish (no filter)

I have learnt how to use the pen tool, the quick selection tool, magic wand tool and such. I used these to cut out images from the photos that Mr Fauzi gave then copy and pasted them into my collage. I tried to follow the golden ratio for my composition.

Week 4 : Adjustment Layers and Filters

Figure 1.2 Big Fish (with filters and adjustment)

Mr Fauzi liked this collage so I edited it with some filters. Some of the filters I used in this is invert filter, hue and saturation, colour balance and the clipping mask. This exercise taught me how to use Photoshop to cut images and and use the filters.

Unused designs that I like so I'm putting it here.

Reflection

This project helped me learn how to compose many different elements into a piece. I had fun doing this exercise cause it gave me a lot of freedom to create.
